On average a 240 litre wheelie bin can hold three to four refuse bags. It is the recommended size for households which have five to six residents living at the address. Therefore, it is a popular choice for businesses and larger families which are likely to produce more waste.

The 240 litre wheelie bins are available in five different colours which are: dark grey, green, blue, red and yellow.

Dark grey wheelie bins are commonly used for general waste, whilst coloured wheelie bins can be used to provide designated recycling bins for different materials. This also encourages effective waste separation. For example, red wheelie bins for plastics, blue wheelie bins for paper, green wheelie bins for garden waste and yellow wheelie bins for food and drink cans.

EN840 Compliant

The EN840 standard is the regulation of mobile waste containers. To be accredited to this standard the wheeled bins must go through vigorous testing, which decides if they meet the requirements for it's category.

Our 240 litre wheelie bins are manufactured from a tough Polyethylene which conforms to the EU standard EN840. It is a durable material which is designed to provide resistance to cracks, dents and bending. The use of Polyethylene in the manufacturing process creates the curved exterior of the bins. This ensures that they are extremely robust and easy to maintain and clean. Which is what makes them our best-seller.

The 240 litre bins are fitted with two large 200mm wheels, which can easily manoeuvre over curbs and steps. The wheels allow for the effortless movement of the bins and are assisted with the built-in handle which provides the refuse collectors a two-handed grip on the bin as stipulated in the EN840 regulations. Furthermore, the durable integrated handle can be used with approved DIN and AFNOR lifting equipment.
